Someone asked me recently how old my bike is. They were thinking it looked like a couple of years old, and were very shocked when I replied, "Almost 17, with 67,000 miles on it." It's a '92 Cannondale T600, a genuine touring bike. I used to make a point of calling it a touring bike, but that would usually confuse the questioner. It's now "just a road bike."
